| The mining industry, due to its detrimental environmental impacts, necessitates innovative approaches to restore degraded ecosystems. AI-based smart marketing can enhance the effectiveness of environmental restoration projects by engaging stakeholders and optimizing resources. However, limited research has explored the role of this technology in bridging sustainable marketing and environmental restoration within the mining sector. This study aims to address this gap by examining how AI-based smart marketing can improve the effectiveness of environmental restoration projects in mining. Employing a qualitative, inductive approach, the research utilized thematic analysis and semi-structured interviews with 25 experts (15 university professors and 10 industry managers and consultants). The findings identified six overarching themes, encompassing 144 basic codes and 24 constituent themes: data-driven analysis and resource optimization, personalization and stakeholder engagement, ethical considerations and sustainability, innovation in marketing technologies, garnering support and participation, and enhancing project efficiency. The results indicate that AI, through big data analysis, targeted campaign design, and real-time monitoring, improves community participation and project efficiency. However, the success of this approach hinges on addressing ethical challenges, such as data privacy protection and mitigating algorithmic biases. The proposed framework can serve as a model for the mining industry and other environmental sectors, promoting long-term sustainability through interdisciplinary collaboration. It is recommended that mining companies leverage interactive digital platforms and transparent data protocols to build trust and foster stakeholder participation. | ||
